Adams Central Athletics

The 8th grade volleyball team won the Barney Schultz Commodore Classic at St. Joe on Saturday. They beat South Adams 25-14, 25-11, St. Charles 25-23, 25-23, Central Lutheran, 25-23, 25-16 and St. Joe in the championship 17-25, 25-17, 19-17. Down 0-1 in the championship against St. How, the Lady jets roared back winning the second set 25-17. St. how Jumped out 5-0 in the third set and help the lead to 10-0. The Lady jets stormed back to win the final set 19-17. Slone Schortgen led the charge with 7 kills in the final set. Leading the Jets was Slone Schortgen with 29 assists, 21 kills, 13 aces and 23 digs. Jentrie Schaefer had 20 kills. Brielle Grover had 23 assists, Hallie Schaefer had 8 kills. Macie Fisher had 7 kills and Kelsey Beaver had 14 digs. The Lady Jets host Parkway on Thursday, September 4, for their home opener.
