On a hot Saturday at Whispering Creek Golf Club, the Adams Central Lady Jets delivered their sharpest performance yet, setting a new 18-hole team record with a score of 397 and proving they belong in the mix against some of the region’s best. The breakthrough was fueled by consistency across the board and capped off by standout efforts from the top of the lineup. Londyn Smith once again paced the Jets, carding an 88 to finish in the top 10 individually at T9. Right beside her, Adrienne Johnson turned in a personal-best 98, her first time breaking the 100 mark in an invitational setting. Tenley Hendricks (105) and Lily Johnson (106) showed steady play throughout the round, while Sophie Johnson (128) rounded out the scoring on a demanding course that tested every shot. The team’s total of 397 not only marked a program-best 18-hole score but also earned them a 7th-place finish in the 17-team field, right behind Angola and Bellmont. For a group that has been rewriting its own record book all season, Saturday was another leap forward. “This was the kind of round that shows how much potential this team has,” Coach Nick Smith said after the match. “All the girls felt like they were playing far from their best golf, but still turned out solid scores. Londyn set the tone, and seeing Adrienne step up with her career round was huge. For us to post our lowest 18-hole score in program history shows the depth we are building.” The Lady Jets will look to carry this momentum into their next stretch of the season with confidence and a clear sense that the bar has been raised.
