Jets Host Bi-County Invitational; Johnson Claims Medalist Honors

The Adams Central boys golf team hosted the 2025 Bi-County Invitational on Saturday at Wabash Valley Golf Club, welcoming five other schools for a competitive 18-hole showdown. The six-team event included Norwell, Bluffton, Bellmont, South Adams, and Southern Wells. Junior Drew Johnson led the field and secured medalist honors with a stellar round of 76, edging out Bellmont’s Owen Minnick on a tie-breaker using the 5th handicap hole. Johnson shot a steady 41 on the front nine before closing with a blazing 35 on the back to seal the top spot. As a team, the Jets finished 4th overall with a combined score of 352, trailing Norwell (327), Bluffton (328), and Bellmont (328) in a tightly contested race for second and third. South Adams finished just behind Adams Central at 354, with Southern Wells in sixth at 407. Scoring for Adams Central: Drew Johnson – 76 Mavrick Becher – 91 Jaret Smith – 92 Trace Maller – 93 Brody Isch – 96 The invitational also highlighted a deep individual field, with the top 10 golfers all finishing at 84 or better. Johnson’s performance adds another highlight to a strong junior campaign as the Jets continue their march through the 2025 season. Adams Central returns to action Tuesday, May 13, in a tri-meet against Canterbury and Churubusco at Chestnut Hills Golf Club.
