Jets Fall Just Short Against Southwood; JV Shines with Personal Bests

On a brisk Thursday evening at Wabash Valley Golf Club, the Adams Central golf team hosted Southwood in a tightly contested dual meet. The Varsity Jets came up just short, 186–178, while the Junior Varsity team continued their hot streak, securing a 194–209 victory. Senior Drew Johnson led the way for the Varsity and claimed meet medalist honors with a strong round of 42. He was followed by Mavrick Becher and Trace Maller, who each shot 46. Jaret Smith posted a 51, and Zach Frank added a 52 to complete the team’s total of 185. The JV squad delivered a well-rounded performance, highlighted by multiple personal bests. Brody Isch fired a career-low 45, while Ashton Yergler added a season-best 47. Coltan Landrum and Myles Kaehr each carded 51, and Max Kaehr contributed a 53 to lock in the victory. Several other JV golfers also took to the course, gaining match experience and showcasing improvement. Trevor Henry and Dakota Marbach each posted solid rounds of 52, while Damien Saalfrank (56), Quentin Taylor (58), and Harper Hammond (59) turned in steady performances on a tough scoring day. Trevor Chamberlain (55) and Noah Grubb (61) rounded out the squad’s participation. The Jets are back in action this Saturday as the Varsity squad travels to compete in the South Adams Invitational.
