Adams Central Jets Fall To Fort Recovery in Season Opener

Even though Adams Central Varsity Jets collected four hits to Fort Recovery's three, they still fell 5-1 on Thursday. Jacob Miller, Ethan Funk, Jami Roach, and Carson Ross each collected one hit for Adams Central Varsity Jets. Fort Recovery got on the board in the first inning after Mason Diller singled, scoring one run. Fort Recovery added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Alex Gaerke walked, and Fort Recovery scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. Caden Grisez homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Fort Recovery. Jami Roach hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the seventh for the Adams Central Varsity Jets. Alex Gaerke earned the win for Fort Recovery. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking two. Jami Roach pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Adams Central Varsity Jets. The pitcher allowed one hit and two runs while, striking out three and walking one. Cade Van De Weg took the loss for Adams Central Varsity Jets. The starter went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out four and walking four. Jami Roach went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Caden Grisez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Fort Recovery with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Mason Diller, Caden Grisez, and Caden Homan each collected one hit for Fort Recovery. Fort Recovery didn't commit a single error in the field. Brodie Hart had the most chances in the field with 15. Adams Central Varsity Jets play at home on Saturday against Churubusco in their next game.
