Barrett Collier hit two home runs and drove in six as Adams Central Varsity Jets defeated Lakewood Park Christian 16-6 on Tuesday. Collier homered in the third and fifth innings. An error put Adams Central on the board in the top of the first. Lakewood Park Christian tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a single by Linblom, and a fly out by Lyons. In the top of the third, the Varsity Jets broke up the tie when Kiriley induced Jami Roach to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Then a home run to center field by Collier followed to extend the lead to 6-2. The Jets scored two runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to center field by Collier. Adams Central scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. Roach doubled, scoring one run, Collier tripled, scoring one run, Andy Geels hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Colston Pruitt singled, scoring two runs, Hayden Bluhm singled, scoring two runs, and Roach doubled, scoring one run. Collier earned the win for AC. The hurler allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking two. Kiriley took the loss for Lakewood Park Christian. The starting pitcher went five innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking four. Chandler Voglewede appeared in relief for Adams Central Varsity Flying Jets. Adams Central tallied 12 hits in the game. Jacob Miller and Collier each collected three hits. Pruitt and Roach each collected multiple hits for AC. The Flying Jets had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Bluhm and Reece Hammond led the team with two bases on balls each. Pruitt and Roach each stole multiple bases. AC ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Linblom and Lyons each collected two hits for Lakewood Park Christian. Lyons went 2-for-5 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Adams Central Varsity Jets welcome Blackford on Thursday for their next game.
